ALO Management Team

Our Managers oversee all areas of ALO’s business.

We employ highly passionate leaders and managers to oversee the operations of ALO. Our Management Team is comprised of an Executive Officer and four Managers in the areas of the operations, service development and delivery.

Our team possess diverse skills and areas of passion and experience. Together, we strive to achieve the ALO Vision, Purpose and Values, building capacity within individuals and communities.

Cheryl Keogh – Executive Officer

Cheryl KeoghCheryl has been working at Evans Community Options and now Accessible Living Options (ALO) for approximately 17 years.  Firstly as a Case Manager so has a good understanding of issues affecting people entering the world of service delivery, but also the skills required to be an effective and efficient case manager.  In her role in management Cheryl learnt a great deal in financial management, human resources, service delivery and strategic and business planning all of which are required to survive in the community care sector.  Cheryl was appointed Executive Officer in 1999 of ECO and later as ALO's Executive Officer in 2013. 

Cheryl is a Registered Nurse having worked in general, psychiatric and aged care.  Cheryl is also a registered  Wool Classer, working across the Central West.  Cheryl has managed family farming properties for approximately twenty years.   Therefore she has a good understanding of the needs, hardships and frustrations of people living on the land and in remote areas.

Cheryl is committed to assisting people achieve their desires and aspirations in both service delivery and developing staff skills.

Cheryl is passionate about developing ALO to an organisation of choice both for service delivery and employment opportunities.

Cheryl values the ''outside square' thinking of staff and volunteers to find the best outcomes for all associated with ALO that are at low cost and sustainable and appreciate working with such a  wonderful mix of people from various backgrounds, cultures and experiences.

Kim Thompson – Services Manager

Kim ThompsonKim joined ALO (which was then ECO) in 2008 as the Neighbour Aid Coordinator, and is now Services Manager. Kim was an Enrolled Nurse for over 20 years spending most of that in the Aged Care Industry before moving to the Disability Sector as a coordinator with a local organisation that provides supported employment for adults with disabilities. She is passionate about supporting frail aged people, people who have a disability and their carers to live happy, fulfilling lives. She enjoys working with and supporting her team of case managers and coordinators to think creatively and achieve the best results for their participants.


Margaret Riley - Service Development Manager

Margaret RileyMargaret is a hospital trained Registered Nurse with post graduate qualifications in midwifery, child and family health, sexual and reproductive health. Margaret has worked in the community since 1996 starting in health and then as a Case Manager for 7 years.  Margaret moved into management in 2007. Since working in the sector Margaret has completed a Diploma in Case Management, Certificate 4 in Frontline Management, Certificate 4 in Business (Governance) and a Diploma of Management (person centred practices). Margaret is committed to ensure ALO meets all the required standards and all staff are engaged, highly skilled and committed to the community we serve.


Varni-Maree Bennet - Finance Officer


Varni-Maree has over 25 years’ experience in business and accounting. Starting out in corporate superannuation administration in the late 1980’s, she has experience working within all kinds of organisations from large corporate, government, not for profits, small and micro business as well as 16 years with a multinational global enterprise. She has been leading teams and organisations since 2001 and has a passion for people and change management. Varni-Maree is committed to ALO, its staff and participants, and to the Bathurst community and is keen to learn and grow along with the organisation as we all navigate the changes facing the sector as a result of the National Disability Insurance Scheme. Varni-Maree has a degree in Business (Accounting Major) and is a member of CPA Australia.
